| Repair & Regeneration Fund Launch | |
Friday 19th September at Haden Hill HouseThe Repair & Regeneration Fund had its official launch at Haden Hill House on Friday 19th September 2008 where local dignitaries and business leaders met to hear the Bishop of Worcester, along with the Mayor of Sandwell, officially launch the Appeal. The Launch began at 12 noon and lasted around 2 hours before moving onto the church itself for the remainder of the afternoon. Guests had the opportunity to view a model of the planned regeneration project and talk to those closely involved in raising the money to fund the project and create awareness of the problems presently facing the church. It is hoped that this event has helped to broaden the scope of the Repair & Regeneration Fund across the entire community, bringing together local government bodies, local businesses and the local population, to hear about the needs of the church and to consider how they can help the Repair & Regeneration Fund reach its target and help save such a valuable resource of the local community for the local community. After the official launch at Haden Hill House the party moved to the church where the local congregation were joined by many of those people invited to the launch and anyone else with an interest in the church, to see for themselves why it is so important to help save the fabric of this important building before it is too late. A 6-page document outlining the plans for the Church Repair & Regeneration Fund was also launched at this event. You can see that document by clicking here. |
